Do you wish you had more energy? Do you drink coffee or energy drinks and feel that crash and then need to drink more of it to get half the energy you would before??

This happens to so many people and there was a time when I drank coffee, energy drinks, ate power bars for meals and tried to find anything I could to help me stay up and feel super energized.I soon realized that was not sustaining and I wasn’t feeling the best I could. It was certainly not a high vibe way of living!

Maybe you have a demanding career, social life, run your own business or family, maybe you have a newborn like me!

No matter what your situation, and even if you don’t drink caffiene, a lot of people could use more energy!

I saw the stat that one million Americans have chronic fatigue and its contributing to lower immune systems and higher disease rates...ahhh breaks my heart!

Bottom line is if you rely on artificial means for your energy there are side effects and long-term health effects. Caffeine causes insomnia, restlessness, stomach upset, anxiety, headaches and literally the list goes on.

The good news is, you don’t have to sacrifice your health to feel extremely energized, there is a way better, healthier way.

People always ask me where I get all my energy from so I wanted to share these yogic Ayurvedic, Yogic, High Vibe Livin tips I use now to boost my energy long term, the high vibe, healthy way!

Eat Less Energy Draining Foods and More High Energy Foods

Seems simple right and makes sense but a lot of people don’t think and eat this way! There are certain foods that drain our energy and staying away from them will help keep our energy levels high. Fast food, canned foods processed foods, frozen foods, anything with preservatives, chemicals, or added sugars have little nutrients left and are hard for our bodies to digest. Try to limit the amount of food you eat that falls into this category and you will start to see your energy levels rise! This is why I frequent farmers markets and eat fresh, local and organic whenever possible. The foods that give us the most energy are listed below and will give our body the nutrients we need to stay energized.

  • Nut and seed butters- My favorite is almond butter and sesame seed butter (tahini) is super high in energizing vitamins E, B and minerals.
  • Whole Grains- Not all carbs are created equal but the healthy carbs are incredibly energizing. Maharishi Ayurveda considers rye, quinoa, amaranth and millet as the most nutritious, because they are especially high in protein and minerals and fiber.
  • Fruits and Veggies- The following are the fruits and veggies that have the highest sources of energy. Leafy greens, spinach, chard, watercress, kale, carrots, potatoes, beats, apples, bananas, papaya, pineapples, strawberries, and oranges.

I make smoothies every day with a lot of these fruit and veggies and its an easy, delicious way to get a huge boost of energy! We have FREE Smoothie and Meditation Challenges periodically where I share all my favorite smoothie recipes so make sure you are on our mailing list so you get that info!!

Boost Your Digestion

If you do eat some of these energy draining foods you probably feel heavy after eating and your body takes more energy to digest your food. The Council of Maharishi Ayurveda Physicians advises drinking half a glass of water with ¼ of a fresh lime squeezed into it to help with digestion. A fresh papaya is great after meals because it contains enzymes that assist in digestion- I carry American Health Original Papaya Enzyme Chewable Tablets, 600 Count with me and eat them after meals and especially if I feel bloated.

Breathe Consciously

The more oxygen your cells and organs have the more energy you will feel. Breathing through the nose increases your prana (life force) in your body! The next time you feel tired notice your breathing, it will most likely be shallow and you might be holding your breath or breathing fast. Take a few long deep breaths bringing your stomach out on the inhale and in on the exhale and see how that changes how you feel! Check out my video below on an especially energizing breath here, Breath of Fire and how to do it!

I always start my day out with this breath and use it as a pick me up if I ever start to feel tired and it is a very powerful Kundalini Yoga breath that detoxes your system and energizes you from the inside out.

Spices and Herbs

There are many herbs and spices that are natural energy boosters and have many positive health effects! Ashwagandha is an incredible, ancient herb that has been used for centuries in Ayurveda for energy and stress relief and it supports vitality, immunity, and longevity (google it)! I recommend this organic one ORGANIC INDIA Ashwagandha Herbal Supplement Veg Capsules, Healthy Stress Response (90 Capsules). Spices that boost your energy are cumin coriander, fennel, and turmeric and are great to cook with! You can also add spices to your water to boost your energy.

Yoga, Meditation and Exercise

Ok you may think yoga and meditation is my answer to everything…because it is LOL, but really it is one of the most incredible sources of energy you can get! It gets your heart pumping which recirculates your blood and carries more oxygen throughout your system and brain, which gives you more awareness and more energy. Moving your legs and arms increases circulation of hormones, lymph nodes, neurotransmitters to balance and regulate your systems and give you more energy!

There you have it….I hope this helps you live a happier, healthier, high vibe life full of natural, legal energy ;) Let me know any questions and comments you have below!!
